Kickoff & Next Steps
We’re off and running with support from our consultant (PORT), with a series of meetings conducted on February 17th & 18th that included a wide variety of constituents. Neighborhood Association representatives, Downtown Board members, Watershed Council leadership, SeeBozemanCreek Advisory Committee members, and City staff met with PORT (separately) to begin the planning process. These early conversations helped establish the relationships necessary to leverage the diverse strengths of our local resources as a foundation for success.
The feedback we’ve received so far has had a big impact on our approach moving forward. We have refined our approach to better reflect the City’s goals, the priorities of SeeBozemanCreek, and the opportunity to build broader community awareness and support for the Vision Plan. With two additional in-person visits with PORT, we will be able to incorporate more iterative feedback, directly coordinate with stakeholder groups, and provide stronger alignment between emerging design concepts and community priorities. More details, including dates for future engagement opportunities can be found within the Consultant Engagement Descriptions document.
On April 6th, 7th, and 8th, Downtown property/business owners will be engaged, in addition to a number of invited citizen representatives to make further progress in building momentum leading up to our first open public event (tentatively scheduled for June 2nd, details to follow). The April work sessions will focus on in-progress findings from PORT’s initial site analysis, as well as a review of case studies and potential precedents that may help frame opportunities for different segments of the creek as we begin identifying several emerging “reach typologies” across the study area.
Additional information related to upcoming public events, including touch points with the City Commission, will be announced soon.
