The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and the City of Bozeman, in cooperation with Montana State University (MSU), the Museum of the Rockies, and other stakeholders, have initiated a project to reconstruct Kagy Boulevard from South 19th Avenue to Willson Avenue.
The Kagy Blvd – S. 19th to Wilson project will correct the existing deficiencies in the corridor. Proposed improvements include the addition of sidewalks, high-quality bicycle infrastructure, and lighting where none currently exists and improved upon in the areas where they do. Intersections will be reconstructed with enhanced safety features and pavement will be fully replaced for the first time in the history of Kagy Boulevard. Stormwater management will be added to improve environmental quality.
The project will also consider adding additional vehicular capacity in an effort to serve projected growth with similar quality of service as Bozeman has experienced in the past.
