Phase 2 Presentation Slides Available

At their meeting on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the Historic Preservation Advisory Board received an update on Phase 2 of the Local Landmark Project. The update included a presentation from the project consultants, the Community Planning Collaborative, about several of the key components involved in creating a Local Landmark Program.

The presentation included examples of regulatory, non-regulatory, and incentive-based landmark programs in other communities across the country. It also included discussion prompts. HPAB discussed the significance and integrity criteria that should be considered when designating a landmark and how the landmark program might be applied to properties, including different processes to consider if a landmark is a single site or a district, regulatory or non-regulatory, and inside or outside of the Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District or NCOD.

You can view the presentation slides or watch the meeting recording to follow along.
