A big thank you

Last night, December 16, the City Commission voted to adopt the updated Unified Development Code. The vote repealed and replaced the entirety of Chapter 38 in the municipal code, as well as the associated zoning map. The changes will become effective on Feb. 1, 2026. You can view the final code documents and zoning map on engage.bozeman.net/UDC.

Thank you for the YEARS of engaging on this project with us. We know it’s been a journey – from the late-night Commission meetings to studying technical documents on your own and with your neighbors – you’ve been there pushing for the best decisions for our community. At the City, we believe that outcomes are most effective and sustainable when community members from all backgrounds and perspectives show up and participate. Through this project, we saw again just how beloved our city is and we believe this updated code will prepare us for a future we all can be proud of.

Stay tuned-in to this project and Engage Bozeman as we will be offering online information sessions in January to answer questions about the new code and help everyone understand the implications of the revised regulations.

Thanks again for being here and for keeping us accountable along the way.
