Community Plan Technical Compliance Update
This project is an update to the Bozeman Community Plan (land use plan) to meet recently changed state law requirements for land use planning. Due to a state required deadline of May 17, 2025, a limited technical compliance update is being completed at this time. The focus in on data updates and corrections to text related to changes in state law processes.
A land use plan is a document that guides how a city makes decisions. It addresses the existing conditions of many different topics such as land use, transportation, and housing and identifies goals and strategies to implement a shared vision for the City. This document will ultimately help identify how Bozeman can be improved while maintaining what makes it special.

Population and Economic Forecast Released
Share Population and Economic Forecast Released on Facebook Share Population and Economic Forecast Released on Twitter Share Population and Economic Forecast Released on Linkedin Email Population and Economic Forecast Released linkThe City retained Economic and Planning Systems to prepare population and economic forecasts as part of the data required for the Bozeman Community Plan Technical Update. That document is now available by link and on this page under the Documents section. As we know from the weather, a forecast is not a guarantee. The document evaluates three alternative population and housing trends to take into account various possible alternatives. Because Bozeman is part of the larger Montana community, the document also includes information in context regarding Gallatin County and adjacent counties.
Data is being assembled to meet the requirements of state law and support the plan. Data is available through the City's Laserfiche archive and is primarily in PDF files. The plan will provide additional links to websites. Additional information will be added over time.
