The City of Bozeman manages parking as a part of a multi-modal transportation network that helps us get where we need to go, whether to work or school, around town for errands, to shops and restaurants, events, hiking trails, and beyond. Parking has been a common topic of conversation for the Bozeman community over the years, and it’s been nearly 8 years since we evaluated our parking system comprehensively. With your input, this plan will take a look at current conditions and potential solutions, and develop a plan for action for parking options, policies, and practices that can better support our community.
Why Now?
Demand for our streets, sidewalks, and parking facilities is increasing and changing with competing needs like vehicle storage, pick-up and drop-off, delivery, and more.
As our community has changed, so has the parking industry! New parking management practices, ideas, and technologies can help create a better parking and mobility experience for everyone in Bozeman if implemented correctly.
More advanced parking management can support our vision for the future. Being strategic about our parking management practices can help us achieve our most important community goals, like preserving our special sense of place, supporting our vibrant economy, protecting our environment and air quality, reducing traffic congestion, and making sure Bozeman’s parking and multimodal options are stable and sustainable for years to come.
