“I think the great thing about this plan is it's about people, and all people, it’s about our natural areas and our wildlife, it’s about recreation and health, physical health, mental health it’s all these great things that make our community the community that it is. I really see this plan as improving upon the good things that we all love about Bozeman.”

 - City Commissioner, Jennifer Madgic

Public comment provided by the Gallatin Valley Land Trust endorsed the Plan as a guide for growth for the next 10 years and beyond:

"The plan recognizes the intersection of park infrastructure and trails with the broader transportation network and is the first step in creating a community with more equitable access to parks, trails, which in turn feeds into a more accessible transportation network that better connects our community."

The Parks, Recreation & Active Transportation project team set up a booth at the Rail Jam event held on campus at Montana State University. Students wearing winter coats look at images of city parks on a poster displayStudents wearing winter coats look at images of city parks on a poster display

Students shared input on what they would most like to see if future parks by sticking a pin on images on our poster display. Students were also asked to register on Engage Bozeman to provide feedback on our Parks, Recreation, and Active Transportation plan. Over a hundred MSU students participated in this event!

It's no surprise that the top features these extreme winter sport enthusiasts wanted in their parks were skateboard parks, ice skating rinks, and obstacle courses! Also favored were projects to harvest rainwater and incorporate native vegetation and spaces to grow food.

Thanks to the MSU community who stopped by to say hi and learn about the Parks, Recreation & Active Transportation Plan!
